Coryea’s Story:

The Coryea family has been in the maple industry for over 60 years now! Only having made it ourselves since 1987. It all started with Don Coryea (now 85 years old). After his neighbor lost sight, Don started helping the neighbor produce maple syrup when he was 25 years old. He’s been making it for about 60 years! Don and his wife Roberta had 4 children then in 1987 the Coryea family purchased their own maple syrup equipment and started cooking ourselves. One thing led to another, and now in 2020 we are in our 3rd generation of maple producers, with the 4th generation a little young still they’re just getting a taste of it for now.

We now have about 2,000 taps and as the years progress we are growing our operation. Over the years we have added new ways to upgrade our production systems to make the process go quicker and smoother. This includes eliminating buckets and putting tubing operations in all of our woods, installing vacuum systems, purchasing a reverse osmosis system, and adding a large addition to our sugarhouse! The newest addition includes a cold storage room, a large storage room for all of of products, and a large kitchen to better produce new value-added products.
